There is a salvage kit of 100 pieces of gold that is good for 25 uses. Either that or you can purchase the 400 gold piece expert salvage kit for 25 uses, or the superior salvage kit, which contains platinum (two pieces) rather than gold.

These gold and salvage kits are used for salvaging wood, cloth, and other crafting items available in post-searing and other gold farming areas. The expert and superior kits are used in extracting superior runes from armors.

You can buy Guild Wars gold and do gold runs in the early Ascalon areas as well. Usually users are charged about 100 to 300 gold pieces for these runs, for level 15. If you are a user who wants to complete one of these early Ascalon runs, you can either buy Guild Wars gold or earn it on quests.
